Farnam-Tutco has been manufacturing high quality inline heaters for over two decades. Tens of thousands of these devices have been built for many Fortune 1000 companies on a custom order basis. Based on this experience and increased demand, we created a family of Heat Torch™ process heaters which can be modularly assembled from a set of components to provide the best of both standardization and flexibility.

Farnam Heat Torch™ inline air heaters are ideal for rapidly heating air. Industrial strength open coil heaters provide efficient heat transfer through direct heating element contact with the airflow. Rapid heater response time enables precise output temperature control when these heaters are paired with off the shelf sensors and controllers. Robust design, high quality materials and workmanship provide long life and performance margin.

Cool Touch ™

Our highly efficient Cool Touch™ option minimizes the skin temperature of the heater and helps protect people and product from hot surfaces. This very efficient design reduces heat losses.

The large thermal storage capacity is particularly useful if you have an application requiring intermittent use and rapid response. This Cool Touch™ option is available for many of our Heat Torch sizes.

Heat Torches ™

Flow Torches ™

Flow Torch™ heaters are highly efficient and ideal for heating large airflows. Some of the advantages these process heaters offer are:

  • Very slight obstruction to airflow (low pressure drop)
  • Ideal for low pressure (and economical) blowers
  • Support high volume air flow
  • Heat air up to 482°C (900°F)
  • Fast heat up and cool down due to low mass open coil design
  • Can be connected to suitable flexible duct or pipe fittings

Farnam is developing several graduated sizes of this basic platform. This family of heaters is offered as a standard product with several options. Farnam offers application assistance so you can best match the heater to your requirements and needs. Control packages are available.

ControllERS :

To optimize the performance of your existing resistance heater or your Farnam Custom air heater we highly reccomend one of controller solutions. Our controllers provide an effecient and easy-to-use solution for maintaining the consistancy of your heaters performance. Our Control Cubes are a low cost, highly compact solution. Our Control Panels are a heavy duty and very accurate control system for larger power heaters.

 

Digitherm™

The DigiTherm, formerly know as the DigiTherm, is a 1.5kW Cool Touch™ heater + state-of-the-art digital controller + flow switch + solid-state relay packaged in a convenient wall-mountable steel enclosure. This very unique product takes the guesswork out of process heating applications which require a moderate amount of wattage and have 120V or 240V power available. The heater is capable of airflows up to 70 SCFM and up to 120 PSIG . Maximum output temperature is 371°C (700°F) depending upon airflow. The DigiTherm supports a wide range of applications, including:
